Do whisker biscuits ruin Fletching?
Do whisker biscuits ruin Fletching?
The biscuit will wear the fletching down after continuous shooting but if the fletching is coming off it just wasn’t on right to begin with. I don’t use a biscuit except with my eggs and bacon but I have friends that use drop away rests for 3D and targets that put on the biscuits when hunting season comes.
Can you shoot offset vanes through a whisker biscuit?
Both are stiff and rugged vanes that will hold up well to the bristles of the Biscuit. Second, you can use short fletching. You can also apply a helical offset to short, stiff fletchings such as the Blazer without too much damage to the vanes. These are the only options I would consider with the Whisker Biscuit.
Can you shoot 4 vanes through a whisker biscuit?
I shoot 4 fletch with my w\b. 4 inch aae vanes with hard helical. with no problems at. I have great arrow flight and have been using this set up for a couple years.
Does a whisker biscuit affect arrow flight?
Whisker Biscuit DOES affect arrow flight.
Which is better whisker biscuit or drop away?
Choose a Whisker Biscuit if you want reliability in the field and one less aspect of the shot to concentrate on. You’ll find it to be as accurate as you’ll ever need and perform efficiently as a part of your compound bow system. Go with a drop away if you demand higher performance possible.
What’s a whisker biscuit?
A Whisker Biscuit is a patented arrow rest with synthetic bristles and a hole in the centre, to completely encircle and hold the arrow shaft in perfect alignment and allows feathers or vanes to pass easily through, so there is no fletch clearance problem.
What is arrow helical fletching?
True helical fletching doubles the arrow spin rate and gives you tighter groups, better broadhead flight, flatter trajectory and a quieter arrow. High-speed footage shows that an arrow with true helical (curved) vanes spins at over twice the rate of an arrow with angled vanes.
How long does a whisker biscuit last?
Yes they wear out, but it takes a lot of shooting before you have to replace them. I have one on my back-up bow. I replace mine about every 2 years. If I shoot a lot, I replace it every year before tuning broadheads for hunting season.
Why does the odd color Fletching face away from the bow?
The odd colour fletch is a guide that helps the archer correctly orientate the fletching when nocking an arrow. This leaves the other two fletches at angles with the bow/rest, virtually eliminating the chance of significant contact when loosing an arrow (with correctly spined arrows).
Does whisker biscuit affect accuracy?
It is true the Whisker Biscuit slightly reduces the speed and accuracy of your arrow. The whiskers can put stress on the arrow vanes, so you may need to re-fletch your arrows after multiple shots. A properly aligned rest will have minimal effect on the vanes.
