Is FLAC better than 320 Kbps Reddit?
General consensus is well rendered 320kbps is virtually indistinguishable from FLAC. Any difference you hear is LIKELY placebo. FLACs biggest advantage is archiving, (I think) and keeping a good source to copy from. I can’t hear any difference between 320kbps and FLAC.

By way of comparison, a 128 kbps AAC file is said to be roughly equal to a 160-192 kbps MP3 file, with a 192 kbps MP3 being (as my test subjectively confirms) ‘near’ CD quality. According to the information I have read, AAC files at lower bit rates (such as 128 kbps) do sound noticeably better than MP3s.

With most pop/rock, 320k is probably overkill. You answered your own question: FLAC is lossless, which makes it technically better. Period. What’s the difference between MP3 and FLAC headphones?
As this device is portable and likely to get lost or stolen i don’t wanna blow a lot of money on some audiophile style headphones as i keep the headphones with the device so it would stand to reason that loosing the player would also mean loosing my headphones; which is why i buy cheapy ones (around £20)
Can you hear the boom from a 320 kbps MP3?
It’s true that we can’t hear those, but we can FEEL the boom vibration. Good -professional or really hifi- sub-woofers (e.g. Bose 320) make rooms tremble from a CD or FLAC (or live music), but input MP3 and that vibration is gone.
